When Jesus settled in to wash the disciples feet just hours before His death, Peter asked that He was all of him. It was Peter’s way of, once again, being aggressively obedient out of love for his savior. Jesus told him, though, that he was already clean. He had been forgiven when He believed Jesus was the Son of God.
But he needed his feet washed often, at least daily. The feet are in touch with dirt and grime that comes from living in this world. As followers of Jesus, if we are to stay healthy in our faith and comfortable in our walk, we need to have our feet washed daily. We need His word to refresh our minds and souls.
